Who keeps product knowledge for shopping agents current?

Stefan Hamann · English
Text

Every fact that can change a buying decision needs an owner at the merchant and a reliable source. Merchandising knows the product rules, logistics knows stock and shipping, and customer service hears the everyday questions. An agency can help carry that knowledge into the shop, feed and assistant and make errors visible.

Which gap should I close first?

Look at support questions, mistaken orders and return reasons for a product group. The wrong adapter fitting prevents a suitable purchase. An unclear list of what comes in the box can lead to a second order. Start with the field whose errors cause the most trouble in practice. Record the variant the fact applies to and who can update it.

What happens after the first import?

A colleague reports that a spare part now fits only the newer model series. The owner corrects the rule at its source and checks an old variant and a new one. The shop and agent then give the same answer. If the source cannot answer a question, the agent should ask for the missing detail or hand off to service. The workflow is complete when the team knows where to make a correction without relying on the original project.
